Business Incubator

The “CUBE” is a non-profit non-traditional venture incubator. It is not intended to be a long-term home for startups but rather a place to “camp out” with other entrepreneurs to share ideas and energy while rapidly building your business towards institutional funding. Beyond basic office space, services, and mentors there will be access to specialized equipment, materials, services and facilities to enable Clients to quickly build and test new products and services.

OVERVIEW

The CUBE Business Incubator is being established to bring a center for advanced entrepreneurship to Northern Nevada to support businesses in Nevada and those moving to Nevada. It is designed to attract and grow high-tech businesses and develop interactions with the local business community, local/regional investor groups and local/regional academic institutions. The CUBE will produce multiple small businesses that will create jobs, revitalize neighborhoods, commercialize new technologies, and contribute to the communities of northern Nevada by providing expert resources for entrepreneurs and opportunities for investors to realize higher levels of quality and quantity of fundable deals.

INCUBATOR SERVICES

The CUBE Business Incubator will provide pro-active, value-added support and access to critical tools, information, education, contacts and resources- that may otherwise be unaffordable, inaccessible, or unknown to the managers of the startups. Most important, they will receive access to capital and assistance in getting it. We will help them set-up best of breed services, connect them to local, national, and international partners and marketplaces, and provide world class recruiting assistance.

ATTRACTING GREAT STARTUPS

To be successful, startups need help. Passion and commitment need expertise. Without this additional expertise more than 80% fail within the first few years. We intend to bring in cutting edge technologies from outside the area and develop centers of economic activity based on new industries as has been accomplished in Austin, Boston and, of course, Silicon Valley.

It has been shown that early intervention and incubation of new business ventures has proven to be a successful model. Incubators tied to venture funds have been even very successful with a launch success rate of over 40% for in-house companies. These startups need sound and disciplined advice on how to build a successful business. They also need introductions to employment, technology relationships, and funding relationships. They need extensive coaching to know how to handle those and other opportunities. Generally they know their technology, but not what to do with it. The Cube will be a single source opportunity for all the critical areas of assistance a startup needs to become more successful more rapidly.
